This article intends to connect two poems of Brazilian modern literature, "No meio do caminho" [In the middle of the way], by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, and "Educação pela pedra" [Education ‘by the stone’], by João Cabral de Melo Neto, with the situation of teacher resistance to continuous training activities. The conduction of this work was based on an analysis of the case study carried out in the lato sensu specialization course in Gestão Escolar (School Management), at the University of São Paulo (USP), in the period from 2018 to 2019. In this study, one of the results obtained showed, specifically in the second chapter, the discontent and apathy of teachers with regard to participating in these training courses. Therefore, the article intends to deepen the discussion using the poetics of our literature in order to intertwine knowledge and practice, the observation of which examines the negative reaction of teachers to training courses throughout the school year.
