Abstract

This article intends presents the result of the historical research motivated by the lar too small amount of historiography about treatment and education of the child with severe psychic disease. The main theoretical reference of the current paper relies on Michel Foucault, whose maio purpose is to redo the route - practice, speeches, methodologies - of the First Special School for Abnormal Children, in the then Federal District, the Bourneville Pavilion of the lnsane National Asylum, in the period of 1903 and 1920.
