Abstract

BEYER, Hugo Otto. School integration and inclusion: reflections on the german experience. Rev. bras. educ. espec. [online]. 2002, vol.08, n.02, pp.157-168. ISSN 1413-6538.

The paradigms of school integration and inclusion with differentiated conceptual emphasis have marked the history of special education during the last 30 years. They have been adopted by several countries with their own emphasis and experiences. The present work describes the school integration experience of students with special needs in regular school on German states. The concepts, which have followed those experiences, are considered in confrontation of new and old paradigms. The Brazilian reality, in face of the growing emphasis of integrating and inclusive educational policies, is discussed.

Keywords : School Integration; Inclusive Education; German School Integration; Brazilian Policies on School Integration/Inclusion.
