Abstract

CHACON, Miguel Cláudio Moriel. Graduation of human resources in special education: answer of the universities to the recommendation of 1793 Ministerial law. Rev. bras. educ. espec. [online]. 2004, vol.10, n.03, pp.321-336. ISSN 1413-6538.

In this research it was analysed the curriculum subjects taught in the courses of Psychology and Pedagogy from 33 Brazilian universities (27 public and 06 private ones) and their contents in the period between 1992 and 1997. It was based in the law number 1.793 of 1994/12/27 recommended by MEC. Six professionals (three psychologists and three pedagogues) were invited to participate as judges. It was possible to identify disciplines of Special Education after the recommended law number 1793 in the curriculum subjects of 07 Pedagogy courses and 3 Psychology ones. Besides that, one of the Pedagogy courses adopted the Special Education discipline, but not as obligatory for students; and another course adopted it as a discipline that contemplates the topic. It was not possible to check the real reason why most of the courses didn’t follow the recommendation. However, the disciplines of the curriculum subjects were classified by Knowledge area, which pointed a less number of disciplines in the graduation areas of Social-Politics and Practical ones.
