RAMALHO, Joaquim  e  SANTOS, Maria R.. Alcohol Syndrome: Educative Intervention. Rev. bras. educ. espec. [online]. 2015, vol.21, n.3, pp.335-344. ISSN 1980-5470.  https://doi.org/10.1590/S1413-65382115000300002.

Firstly, this article seeks to first underline the harm caused by alcohol in pregnant women, specifically in reference to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Alcohol consumption during pregnancy is often higher than desirable, affecting the developing fetus, and causing irreversible damage at the cognitive-behavioral and social levels and learning. These children who present Special Educational Needs should be considered under the special education Law 3/2008 in Portugal. Educational and/or professional programs should be created to promote child development in order to prepare them to become more independent as adults.
