The Universal Design Guidelines for Learning - UDL, started as a project by the National Center for Access to the General Curriculum (NCAC), a collaboration agreement between the Center for Special Applied Technologies (CAST) and the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) of the United States Department of Education. These Guidelines were compiled by Dr. David H. Rose, CAST Co-founder and Educational Director, and Jenna Gravel, Master of Education and PhD student at Harvard University. They received numerous collaborations and comments from CAST colleagues, teachers from different levels of education (elementary, secondary and higher education), researchers and other professionals. This translation and revision was carried out as an activity of the Study Group: Research in Inclusive Educational Policies and Practices: Rebuilding the school, at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Campo Grande (MS / Br), during the second semester of 2019 integrated by the following people: Andre Luiz Alvarenga de Souza, Angelita Leal de Castro Fonseca, Evelyn Mello, Franciele Cristina da Silva, Jaqueline Vargas, Jociane de Oliveira Nunes Gonçalves, Juliana Moreno Cavalheiro, Leandro Vieira, Mareide Lopes de Arruda and Patricia Tanganelli Lara coordinated by PhD Eladio Sebastián-Heredero. Authorization for this publication in Brazil in Portuguese was made by Mr. David Gordon, Senior Director, Publishing & Communications at CAST, with the knowledge of Ms. Kim Ducharme, Director of Educational User Experience Design at CAST, dated 10 July 2020.
