This article aims to problematize the absence of inclusion policies and their consequences for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the Tiradentes Military School (CMT, acronym in Portuguese), located in the Federal District, Brazil, based on a news report that revealed the expulsion of students with ASD from the school due to repeated academic failure. To this end, we examined CMT’s normative and regulatory documents to identify how the issue is addressed. We searched for the terms “accessibility,” “autism,” “autistic,” “neurodivergence,” “neurodivergent,” and “inclusion,” both in official documents and in the search section of the school’s institutional website. We identified limitations across these sources-except for the term “accessibility,” which yielded positive results in relation to the website’s contrast tool for people with low vision and Educational Norm no. 17, of February 5, 2024, which introduced the possibility of Specialized Educational Service. Considering the expansion of military schools in Brazil, it is crucial that they revisit their regulations and educational practices, promoting broader accessibility and inclusion-both essential for the exercise of full citizenship, without exclusion, distinction, or privilege regarding human singularities.
