Abstract

This paper is composed by a theoretical study about the evaluation of academic achievement. The analysis permitted to identify the importance of evaluation studies about the learning evaluation as a considerable factor to improve teaching and learning. It also denoted that, dose to the proposals and evaluations techniques, new models and conceptions were delineated. Some give emphasis to the "measure", others, to the "value judgment" and others also bring implied the need of extrapolate the classifying function, which will make the valuation to acquire other functions like the diagnostic and the formative. However it can't be said that the researches advancement has bee to the development of the evaluative systematic that more directly attend to the highter education interests and objectives, incipient in the treatment of the educational valuation problems in Brazil.
