This text synthetically presents the process of institutional Evaluation experienced by UNIJUÍ, placing emphasis on the guidelines, the dynamics adopted, and the evaluation of the significance/repercussion of such process for the performance of the institution in what concerns the accomplishment of its goals. As far as the process is concerned, this paper approaches the principles of permanent and continued reflection and systematization as defining elements for the development of all the evaluative activities of the institution. It is conceived that evaluation should be carried out by the university as a whole. This article describes the evaluation of undergraduate and graduate, teaching, research, extension, and of university management. The process has counted with the help of external consultants, experienced specialists, the opinion of the "work force", "alumni" and community in order to constitute the so called "external eye".
