The purpose of this paper is to present the partial results of an academic research concerning the students of "Faculdade de Filosofia Letras e Ciências Humanas" of University of São Paulo - USP. This School and their Sociology Department, together, with the NUPES - Research Nucleum of Superior Education - USP - with the objective to make an analysis of the students profile, their expectations, their professional and academical aspirations, made it possible, under my coordination, this research. The collected information, allowed us to detect among the students the important tendencies in relation to their professional aspirations. The major tendency refers to a "cultural capital" accumulation strategy. This strategy has a distinctive effect in the very competitive labor market.
