Abstract

This study analyzes the process of transition towards autonomy of UNIOESTE, according to the perception of its professors and administrators. To this end, the researcher sought to: (a) become acquainted with the main conceptual aspects and the fundamentals of the macro-society that supports the autonomy of the university; (b) characterize the perception of the professors and administrators concerning the issue of university autonomy in general and, in particular, the autonomy of UNIOESTE; (c) analyze the immediate repercussions of the process of autonomy on the current administration of UNIOESTE. as well as on the areas of teaching, research and extension; (d) identify the factors that cause difficulty/facility in the implementation of the full exercise of autonomy in UNIOESTE.
