Resumen

VAIN, Pablo Daniel. Evaluación de la docencia universitaria: mitos y realidades. Avaliação (Campinas) [online]. 2001, vol.06, n.04, pp.55-62. ISSN 1414-4077.

Educational assessments a field of controversy. This is so because every assessment is undoubtedly political, in that it is subject to principles. This consideration is of main importance in order to understand these reflections on teaching assessment at the university. In this context of assessment we have situated the role of teachers at the university as an educational practice which implies multiple articulations, stressing the complexity it represents and the difficulty its assessment means. However, at the moment of assessing the teaching function, this complex reality has been considerably reduced to a limited number of indicators which scarcely shows a problematic process that is determined by a multiplicity of factors as have been described above. At the same time we have analysed how some university myths, as we have called them, affect educational practices.

Palabras clave : Teacher Performance Assessment; The Role of Teachers; Educational Policy; Power.
