This article focuses on the experience in a private University during the self- evaluation process in a hard science undergraduate program. The aim of this article is to analyze the entire process and discuss its results in relation to the professors as mediators of learning and the possible effects on the learning process. In this sense, the institutional self-evaluation process will be considered as a tool for reflective action as part of an effective teacher education program in higher education.
