The text presents a theoretical construction that emphasizes the importance and opportunity of remode1Iing and reestablishing the debate and the examination of the subject of evaluation, especially, institutional educational evaluation. The text puts evaluation itself in the perspective evaluation, based on the so-called "exam pedagogy" - which has become the trademark of the Brazilian educational scenario.
