PERIM, Gianna; SAKAI, Marcia; ALMEIDA, Marcio  and  MARCHESE, Maurício. Sistema Integrado de Avaliação do Curso de Medicina da UEL: SIAMed. Avaliação (Campinas) [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.01, pp.135-169. ISSN 1414-4077.

The new integrated curriculum of UEL's Medicine undergraduate program, initiated in 1998.brings embedded initiatives and procedures aimed at the evaluation of activities. The new Integrated System of the Medical Program Evaluation (SIAMed) was implemented in 2003. Its principles are in accordance to SINAES - the new national higher education evaluation system and it consists of three phases: internal evaluation, external evaluation, and meta-evaluation. Internal evaluation aims at gathering and organizing quantitative and qualitative data of the program, through meetings, questionnaires, with the participation of the campus community (students, faculty and staff) and external local community (health professionals and health service managers, patients, community leaders and alumni). External evaluation will be carried out through questionnaires, report analyses and in loco visits. The data refer to 70 indicators distributed in dimensions of the program. Meta-evaluation will reexamine the evaluative practices and check the adequacy of the system.
