Abstract

ALMEIDA JUNIOR, Vicente de Paula. Considerations on the implementation of Brazilian higher education evaluation policy (1995-1996). Avaliação (Campinas) [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.02, pp.33-46. ISSN 1414-4077.

This article discusses the implementation of higher education evaluation policy during 1995 and 1996. The text asserts that the process, during this phase, was characterized by the rejection of previous proposals and evaluation experiments developed by the academic community, MEC and the civil society. The consequence was the implementation of the National undergraduate Program Examination (Provão) and the predominance of an evaluative trend based on the idea of control of results detrimental to the formative and participatory trend.
