Abstract

KRAEMER, Maria Elisabeth Pereira. The evaluation of learning as a new constructive process. Avaliação (Campinas) [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.02, pp.137-147. ISSN 1414-4077.

Evaluation is an integral part of the teaching learning process and has recently gained ample space in the teaching processes. It requires technical skills and great capacity of observation of professional involved. According to Perrenoud (1999), evaluation of learning, in the new paradigm, is a mediating process in the construction of curriculum and is closely related to the management of student learning. In the evaluation of learning, the teacher should not permit that the results of periodical tests, generally classificatory, be overvalued in favor of daily observations of diagnostic nature. The teacher, whose work is done in an interactive way, has a good idea, throughout the year, of the participation and productivity of each student. It is necessary to make clear that the test is only a school formality. Since formal school evaluations are dated and compulsory, it is necessary to be extremely careful in its preparation and application.
