This study discusses the forms which our "everyday prejudice" takes in education. more specifically in the University. using as reference the Process of Occupation of Remaining Places (PROVAR), at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), which began in 2003. Pioneer in Brazil, and is now in its forth edition. The analysis of the interviews with students that entered the university through PROVAR in the years of 2003 and 2004, and of students who entered through the Vestibular Exam and Program Coordinators. Compared with c1assic and contemporary literature. Allows us to point out a series of phenomena which can be identified as prejudiced and/or discriminatory.
