This study examines the possibilities of implementing participative institutional evaluation processes in higher as well as fundamental education through the reflection about existing times/spaces, discussing its effects in accelerating or decelerating the actions of the local subjects involved in the process. The appropriation of the Institutional Evaluation Process by the protagonist subjects of change in the schools is a strategic condition for sustaining emancipating pedagogical projects. From the preliminary analysis of the conditions for organizing the pedagogical work in higher as well as fundamental education institutions there appears lo be a risk of the participative institutional evaluation processes being decelerated if institutional times/spaces are not planned differently, recomposing the possibility of the encounter of the subjects involved in the collective process of producing educational quality.
