The Brazilian university has undergone several changes in recent years, prompting debate between teaching and research. In this article, proposed to analyze the politics of scientific research in undergraduate education, the size of the expansion, and its contributions in the area of ​​training, and the policy expressed by the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). Therefore, you need to understand the context of higher education in Brazil. This route had the possibility to understand the higher education scenario and its integration with scientific research. The second time, showed the importance of scientific research and its contributions as training space. Given this situation, it stood the history of the Institutional Scholarship Program for Research Training (Pibic). In a third step, it analyzed the impact of that program on the UFT. Thus, compared to the analyzes relating to these activities, it became apparent that the higher education of the XXI century needs new look and new provisions, since its educational reality presents multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary way. Accordingly, it is for dialogue between professionals from different areas of knowledge, committed to advancing the science and articulated about the social problems that affect society.
