Abstract

VIANA FILHO, Marcizo Veimar Cordeiro et al. The professor work in postgraduate in Brazil after the Law Nº 9394/1996. Avaliação [online]. 2019, vol.24, n.1, pp.127-147.  Epub Jan 02, 2019. ISSN 1982-5765.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1414-40772019000100008.

The 1990s in Brazil were a time of great transformation in the Brazilian State, which ranged from the discussion of the role of the State to its management. In this context, changes impacted on the Brazilian educational structure, standing out the stricto sensu postgraduate. After the reform of the State, and combined with changes after implementation of the current Law on the Guidelines and Bases of Education, Law 9394/1996, the postgraduate course has taken on boundaries that defined the professor work context. Thus, the study aims at analyzing the changes in postgraduate in Brazil, since the Law 9394/1996 and its relationship with the teaching work standardization. Documentary sources produced by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) were analyzed starting in the 1990s, which had as their subject the stricto sensu postgraduate and the professor work at that level. The documentary sources were grouped in a corpus and submitted to the analysis in the text analysis program IRAMUTEQ (Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires), and later, the corpus was submitted to a historical documentary analysis. The results demonstrated two broad categories of analysis, higher education, its purposes and objectives and the postgraduate and professor work standardization. When discussing the results, we observed the development of postgraduate in the last two decades, according to a context of work historically located and the process of standardization of professor work, through a set of skills and attributes that came to be inherent. Professors came to be classified in three categories: permanent, visitor and collaborator; and standards for professor work that can be sources of suffering before the work organization were defined.
