This work presents results of a research that had as objective to evaluate the effectiveness of the National Program of Student Assistance for the permanence of quota holders in the undergraduate courses of the Federal University of Paraíba in the period from 2012 to 2016, based on the dimensions of quality of permanence, resource management and relationship between demand and benefits. The results showed the effectiveness of the program in terms of the quality of the permanence of the assisted participants, however, this did not fully reach the objectives in the other dimensions.
