Resumen

The paper analyzes the impact brought by the new educational Brazilian laws to teachers’ formation. The author discusses the main elements which are changing the curriculum: subjects contents, due to the orientations given by the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN); Biology, Physics and Chemistry number of classes, due to the concept of “area” introduced by the PCN; and a question related to teachers’ formation, now ascribed also to so called Higher Institutes of Education. In refering to practicum activities, the paper also traces a comparision between future teachers’ formation and future doctors’, in Medicine Schools, making a proposal to distribute specific contents throughout the teachers’ formation course curriculum.
