This article analyzes an action research process wich was carried out as a program of Science teachers continuous formation. The researchers/teachers group took their own teaching as reference for the development of different levels of educational investigation, as a consequence of different teaching conceptions. Teachers that conceive the teaching as a process of mere transmission of knowledge seem to understand the possibilities of educational investigation according to technical rationality model. On the other hand, those that conceive the teaching as a dialogic process of construction, they developed investigations based on the practical rationality.
