This work aimed to analyze the concepts and attitudes of students in the 3rd year of a public school in the town of the Mossoró, RN. The place of synanthropic animals (pests) and their ecology in relation to learning and the correlation of knowledge were investigated. The research applied two questionnaires to the subjects selected, where the first questions were based on the Likert scale and the second, with open and closed questions. Through the results obtained we observed that the students have negative attitudes in relation to synanthropic animals and they do not have a significant content learning in ecology which might be expected at their level of education. This influences the behavior of students who do not see that the synanthropic animals are important in the balance of the environment.
