Abstract

SOUZA, Rosangela Vieira de  and  LEAO, Marcelo Brito Carneiro. The building process of FlexQuest by science teachers: necessary knowledge analysis. Ciência educ. [online]. 2015, vol.21, n.4, pp.1049-1062. ISSN 1980-850X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1516-731320150040016.

This paper presents the results of an investigation aimed at analyzing some knowledge necessary in the construction process of the strategy FlexQuest (FQ) by science teachers. This strategy uses the internet and principles of Cognitive Flexibility Theory (CFT) to develop teaching activities. We conducted the research with science teachers for core network and undergraduates in natural sciences, participants of a course, in which they built five FQ about the content of puberty. They reported some difficulties, and indicated some knowledge demanded in the process. From the reports and Shulman categorization of teacher knowledge, we share some formative necessities to work with FQ. The need to learn how to use the computer and internet fluently sums up to the need: to know CFT and its principles, to learn to discuss the content, to understand the practical application of the concepts and to develop the ability for interpretation and creation.
