Abstract

LOCKMANN, Kamila  and  KLEIN, Rejane Ramos. In/exclusion processes for students with disabilities in times of the Covid syndemic. Ciência educ. [online]. 2022, vol.28, e22048.  Epub Oct 28, 2022. ISSN 1980-850X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1516-731320220048.

This paper analyzes processes of in/exclusion experienced by students with disabilities during the social distancing caused by Covid-19, considering the answers to 214 questionnaires administered to teachers and school managers working in different stages of Basic Education. Following a Foucauldian discourse analysis, two discussion axes have emerged: the first one points out the strengthening of school inequalities and the weakening of democracy; the second is related to both practices of in/exclusion carried out through the individualization of teacher activities and practices carried out collaboratively. Finally, the school is regarded as a common space for producing practices that are more inclusive.

Keywords : School inclusion; Disability; Pedagogical practices; Pandemic.
