Abstract

SETLIK, Joselaine. Reading and the initial education of Physics teachers: what do the training curriculum guidelines indicate?. Ciência educ. [online]. 2022, vol.28, e22053.  Epub Nov 17, 2022. ISSN 1980-850X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1516-731320220053.

We present possible interpretations on how the curriculum guidelines for Physics courses and the national curriculum guidelines for initial teacher education indicate reading for teacher training courses. We argue that several competencies and skills mentioned are related to language and permeate knowledge about textual forms and reading practices. In the end, we point out how reading appears in the National Common Training Base, published in 2019, which should guide future initial training courses. In this document, reading is proposed as a competence to be developed in a prescriptive and technical perspective.
