Abstract

LINS, Natana da Silva  and  ARAUJO, Aracy Alves de. The environmental perception of Youth and Adult Education students about the use and disposal of chemical products in the household environment. Ciência educ. [online]. 2023, vol.29, e23025.  Epub June 23, 2023. ISSN 1980-850X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1516-731320230025.

The relationship between an uninformed population and the risk of contamination by chemical agents exists, and that is the difference between an environment free from incidents that could harm health and an environment subject to all sorts of events that can cause damage. Based on this premise, a qualitative, descriptive-exploratory study was conducted aiming to assess the environmental perceptions about the use and disposal of toxic products among students of the third and fourth stages of the EJA modality (education of - young - adults). The following data collection instruments were used: structured questionnaires, observation and document analysis. The Natural Sciences curricular component has been taught in an incipient manner in EJA concerning contents related to toxicity, and the chemical properties of household cleaning products.

Keywords : Environmental education; Adult and youth education; Environment contamination.
