LIMA, Amanda Gil Cardoso de; RIPARDO, Ronaldo Barros  e  UTSUMI, Miriam Cardoso. Adapting and validating a scale of attitudes towards reading (SATR). Ciência educ. [online]. 2024, vol.30, e24027.  Epub 19-Ago-2024. ISSN 1980-850X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1516-731320240027.

This study aimed to adapt and validate a Scale of Attitudes Towards Reading (SATR). We worked with a sample of 806 subjects and the statistical method of factor analysis, with the twenty items of the scale being considered variables. The results showed that the scale has a high reliability coefficient, indicating almost perfect internal consistency. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin measure of sampling adequacy was highly satisfactory. The Bartlet sphericity test demonstrated that the factor analysis was appropriate. The scale presented two-factor dimensions that accounted for 46.1% of the total variance in the set of manifest variables. The results of the analyses attest to the validity and reliability of this tool for measuring attitudes toward reading.
