This study examines the initial training of teachers through participation in the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP). The goal was to investigate the presence of significant learning in terms of pedagogical teaching knowledge based on the experiences of science resident students in a field school in the final years of elementary school. The research used a qualitative approach with an exploratory-descriptive nature, involved six students, and collected data through two reflexive narratives addressing themes related to their initial training in the PRP. The results show evidence of meaningful learning gained from professional and experiential training. However, there was no evidence of significant learning about curricular and disciplinary knowledge among this subject group.
