The credibility on choices that come from processes of evaluation in different educational levels seems to have reached good levels in the last years. As Physical Education, for historical reasons, is considered as a discipline that has some flexibility on its process of evaluation, many teachers require the effective right of failing the student as a way to have an equal status in relation to other disciplines. The point of view that is under discussion here searches to think about a possible counterpoint to this supposed “disadvantage” of Physical Education, about the possibility that weakness of pressure on failing may allow an advantage for Physical Education, allowing that the pedagogical work follows a perspective of emancipation and liberty.
