Resumen

The present paper is aimed at examining the perceptions of Physical Education teachers at School on the stages of changing and education in their career paths, comparing them with the cycles of professional development by Huberman. The methodology was characterized by a qualitative approach as a (auto) biographical study using recorded, transcribed and analyzed oral narratives in light of the identification of meanings. Four Physical Education teachers were part of the study working in the municipal and state education system in Santa Maria (RS), all teachers having more than twenty-one (21) years of profession time, almost in the time of retirement. As we can notice, those teachers realized their status in their careers because of similarities between each other. It also coincides with the literature on teachers’ life cycles.
