This article examines the ethical and hygiene conditions in the Brazilian education of the decade of 1920, through the intellectual output of an educator Potiguar, Nestor dos Santos Lima. For both, is an analysis of the assumptions and ethical hygiene knowledge of the season, taking object by two publications of the author. They are: “The Beauty and The Education”, an article published in the journal Pedagogium, 1921 and “The Celibato Educational,” argument presented by Nestor Lima in I National Congress of Education, 1927. The research seeks draw a parallel between these publications, putting the assumptions and ethical hygiene from the perspective of social standards that is present in educational speech.
