Abstract

FERREIRA, António Gomes  and  MOTA, Luís. A formação de professores do ensino secundário em Portugal no século XX. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2013, vol.18, n.01, pp.115-124. ISSN 1519-3993.

This article shows a perspective about secondary school teacher training in Portugal during the 20th century, articulating three components: scientific training in the domain of specialty the teacher will teach, and scientific preparation of the psycho pedagogical scope and teaching practice. A special approach is made to the organic structure, particularly about objectives, components of formation, duration and operation, with the special concern of presenting the main moments of initial teacher training for secondary education in Portugal. The Qualification Course for Secondary Magisterium, Higher Normal Schools, Course of Pedagogical Sciences and Internship are analyzed, as from the 1970s of the last century, focusing on the sequential and integrated models, with reference to the training of teachers who were exercising their functions.
