Abstract

FRANCISCO, Marcos Vinicius; MILITAO, Silvio Cesar Nunes; MILITAO, Andréia Nunes  and  PERBONI, Fabio. Education and diversity in the educational agenda: From the 2010 to 2014 National Conference on Education, what has changed?. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.2, pp.145-154. ISSN 1519-3993.  https://doi.org/10.1590/edpuc19n201407.

The perception concerning the increase in visibility of social movements regarding affirmation of diversity is relatively recent in our history. However, the acknowledgement of the right to equality and affirmation of differences were consolidated in the second half of the 20th century. Based on the literature and documents, we analyze the issue in the educational field focusing on the conception of diversity present in the axis II of the Reference-Document issued by National Education Conference, 2014. Therefore, we discuss the themes and concepts underlying the understanding of the document and we compare the changes in the signed document with the final document from National Education Conference, 2010. Thus, the emergence of some social segments, not included in the earlier document, and the need to modify the incipient public policies aimed to promote dialogue between diversity and education with the purpose of becoming effective as a true state policies are evident.
