The metaphor "education in the shade" has been used in education to denounce the existence of an educational system that exists in the shadow of the formal education system. The market for explanations has grown in recent years, a phenomenon that appears in most of the world and that tends to expand. In addition to reporting possible deficiencies in the role of schools and the increasing marketing logic present in the training process, the emergence of the education system in the shade also reveals the devaluation that the notion of training acquired in recent years. You can then relate the current drain in order to understand the formation in higher education with this dismal market explanations? This article aims to thematize possible convergences between the market and the impoverishment of the explanations in the current model of training in higher education, strongly based on skills and competencies. This is a bibliographic study, which discusses the market for explanations, linking to this subject reflections on the notion of training. To discuss this concept, the term Bildung is revisited.
