This study it discusses teacher education focusing on the development of the professional work of the pedagogical coordinator. According to the current literature, a pedagogical coordinator can contribute to the continuing professional development of teachers. Based on the professional experience of the pedagogical coordinator and on the results of her master's research, the present study aims to discuss aspects of routine duties and tasks of the pedagogical coordinator in school settings. It also proposes some strategies designed with the purpose of promoting teacher education, and it was carried out analyzing the researcher's own professional experience.
