Resumen

CRUZ, Ana Cristina Juvenal da. Comtemporary anti-racism arguments: Theoretical and political implications for education. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2016, vol.21, n.3, pp.335-349. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.5965/151939932112016335.

The article considers contemporary debates about anti-racism policies and practices to discuss how racism is fought in contemporary societies. Specifically, the analysis focuses on the Brazilian context and addresses the adoption of specific measures in education to resolve the effects of racism at school. Based on a comparative perspective, the article examines the transnational debate on the theme of black diaspora in the educational policies. The article focuses on the theoretical trajectory of anti-racism, contemporary interpretations of racism and racialization processes inspired by thinkers whose studies are situated in postcolonial studies, cultural studies and subaltern studies. Our proposal is to associate the analysis with the local debate on the measures to fight ethnic and racial discrimination in the school environment. Within this scope we intended to present a brief history of Brazilian education whose function was to favor racialization of social relations. Finally, we analyzed contemporary policies adopted in Brazil and the theoretical and political developments in fighting racism at school.

Palabras clave : Anti-racism; School education; Racialization..
