Abstract

FRAUENDORF, Renata Barroso de Siqueira; PACHECO, Daniela Quevedo; CHAUTZ, Grace Caroline Chaves Buldrin  and  PRADO, Guilherme do Val Toledo. Beyond the story: The narrative as a possibility of self instruction. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2016, vol.21, n.3, pp.351-361. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.5965/151939932112016351.

The narrative term has been used as a way to convey stories that are mostly derived from daily life. In this paper, however, we intend to go further. Our aim is to expand the idea of narrative relating it to research in education, showing how to use it methodologically by presenting the trajectory of narrative construction of three researchers, a teacher, a narrator and an educator, who work in different educational contexts and use different authors as interlocutors. The objective is to reflect upon the power of these productions to the process of self instruction and professional training in education, considering the narrative as a means that can help the narrator interpret, analyze, and organize the facts emerging from diverse situations, socially contextualized scenarios, different space and time conditions which, thus, can be used for studies in the field of education.
