Pará has been an effective leader in the consolidation of the National Plan for the Training of Basic Education Teachers, with the work carried out by the Permanent State Forum of Support for Teacher Training that, since 2009, has enabled the training of more than thousands of teachers who work in state and municipal schools. This program has been recognized nationally for the excellence of its actions and the experience acquired in the training of teachers makes the program in the state of Pará an important case for the analysis of its repercussion in teacher education. In order to analyze these actions, the State Coordination of the National Association for Professional Education Training develops a qualitative research based on Lüdke and André (1986) combined with one developed nationally, coordinated by the Research Center of our university, which intends to reveal the settings and impacts of the implementation of the State Forums. The research, conducted in mid-2015, was structured in two phases: in the first phase main documents from 2009 to 2012 that establish the actions and activities of the Forum of Pará were analyzed. The article intends to discuss how the Forum has ensured teacher training in the state, as stated in the documents of the National Policy for Vocational Training of the basic education teachers.
