UNTOIGLICH, Gisela; CERREDELO, Rocío Analía; GOMEZ, Miriam Fabiana  y  RAPPA, Yanina. On inclusions and exclusions. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.3, pp.357-369. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/P1519-3993-2017220300003.

This work takes a journey through the emergence of special education as a response to the demand for inclusion of all children in education in the Argentinian context. Also, it brings up the other side of exclusion. The extension of compulsory schooling and the recognition of persons with disabilities as subjects of law put the need to define specific policies to ensure their education in the center of concerns. More and more children appeared with serious difficulties in structuring their subjectivity, with serious problems to appropriate the language and link up with others, to which the educational system had to provide a place. This is how the Centro Educativo para Niños con Trastornos Emocionales Severos is created, in the form of special education. Centro Educativo para Niños con Trastornos Emocionales Severos is an acronym that refers to educational centers for children in unique times and spaces. It was necessary to invent another way of being in school, another way of being students. Working with children with difficulties in structuring opinion required an institutional reformulation that replaced the ideal standard of the institution, “the same for all”, that did not contemplate the singular subject, with a school named Education Center that became a different and unique institution for each child. We will aproach these topics, begining with the study of a single case concerning a pupil of the Centro Educativo para Niños con Trastornos Emocionales Severos. Toto is a 7-years-old child that arrived at the center referred from a remedial school suffering from continuous psychomotor crisis and deep dificulties in verbal expresion. The interventions of the Centro Educativo para Niños con Trastornos Emocionales Severos allowed him to build a different school path.
