Abstract

FERNANDES, Renata Sieiro; LIMA, Lívia Morais Garcia  and  MIRANDA, Antonio Carlos. Theoretical-methodological approaches in non-formal education and socio-cultural activities. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.3, pp.497-513. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/P1519-3993-2017220300011.

This article presents the results of a qualitative bibliographic and documentary research that deals with the theoretical and methodological approaches in investigations regarding non-formal education and socio-cultural activities. It uses both national and international survey data from publications in the Education area available up to 2014 on the website SciELO. As there is a gap with respect to this systematized knowledge, the investigation procedure was to identify the academic production and research in graduate programs, synthesize it, and reflect on its main features to provide an initial, provisory and parcial mapping. It is clear that the theoretical framework that supports non-formal education and socio-cultural activities comes from the United States and Europe, especially Spain and Portugal, lacking a national basis, although this task is already in process. The training of teachers has occurred in service, although there are attempts and efforts to create and consolidate training courses at technical level and eventually at the university level, as is the case abroad. Research shows much has been done and points to the need for greater and regular inclusion in the educational field and to the problems beyond the school domain. The field of education has focused on formal education at the expense of formative experiences and socialization that take place outside school premises, despite the recent proliferation of social and cultural actions for different types of public.

Keywords : Sociocultural animation; Non-formal education; Continuing education of educators.
