The aim of this paper was to investigate the representations of the Caatinga among students from two schools from two different contexts (city and country) in Bahia, Brazil, by analyzing drawings produced during a pedagogical intervention. Students from each school depicted a representative image of the Caatinga, explaining the reasons for choosing the image. Audiovisual records were made, generating a video mosaic from the images from both schools as a form of document record. Urban school students perceived the Caatinga as being poor in biodiversity, in which drought is prevalent and constant. Students from the country school, in turn, revealed different representations of the Caatinga, mainly a sense of belonging to this biome. Thus, the study provided a reflection on the various meanings of the biome in these different socio-cultural contexts.
