RAMOS, Rita de Cássia Antonia Nespoli. Conceptions of language and teaching in the Teacher's Notebooks of the State of São Paulo. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2019, vol.24, n.2, pp.271-281.  Epub 19-Jun-2019. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v24n2a4316.

Our experience with sixth grade/seventh year-students in state schools from 2008 to 2014 led us to verify that based on the language conceptions adopted in a given statement, it is possible to reflect on social places assigned to students and teachers in the school environment. This reflection motivated the writing of this article, which seeks to describe the conception of language and teaching that emerges from didactic materials of Portuguese Language. We then analyze the language employed and how certain didactic materials crystallize simulacra about teachers and students in educational institutions. For that purpose, we look at extracts from “Cadernos da Secretaria do Estado de São Paulo” where the author addresses teachers to present the concepts of genres “narrative” and “recount”. For the analysis, we have chosen the dialogical studies of discourse as a theoretical support, a theoretical perspective for which there are no neutral statements, but essentially responsive ones, presupposing a position or standing. Dialogic knowledge is afterwards applied to describe the voices with which the Teacher's Notebook dialogues and to understand the educational roles put into play in the teaching-learning process. As results, we understand that although there are incompatible conceptions of language and teaching involved, there is no break in legitimacy in the Teacher's Book, since they mobilize two discourses recognizable in society. In addition, we conclude that for the teacher not to submit to the image of mere reproducer of teaching activities, it is necessary that he or she, as well as all the school agents involved in teaching-learning understand the Teacher's Notebooks as they are entitled: “Support Material”.
