Abstract

BRIZUENA, Tânia Mara Dias Gonçalves  and  FIGUEIRA, Kátia Cristina Nascimento. The Technical Courses Integrated from Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul (Brazil). Educ. Puc. [online]. 2020, vol.25, e204584.  Epub Dec 12, 2019. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v25e2020a4584.

This article aims to analyze the development of mid-level integrate technical courses in the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul, Campo Grande Campus, from 2011 to 2015. It is a qualitative investigation using a documental analyzes methodology, a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The investigation is based on the relationship between work and education, using the analyses categories indicated by Petitat: Space, Time and Contents. The subjects of the investigation were twenty former students, nineteen educators and one director who participated in three courses (Data Processing, Electrotechnology and Mechanics). It was observed that, despite the integration proposal, the historical duality has not been completely overcome since, according to students who completed the courses, not always integration occurs among the curricular unities, and the majority of the students feels that the integration mentioned is only partial. Only a quarter of the subjects could perceive this integration, considering that only 57,8% of the educators understand the conception of high school integration with professional education with view at providing a full development of the students. Therefore, there are aspects to be improved by the academic community.
