Abstract

FARIAS, Alison Nascimento  and  IMPOLCETTO, Fernanda Moreto. Textbooks and Information and Communication Technologies: Perspectives for Physical Education at Schools. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2020, vol.25, e204572.  Epub Oct 22, 2020. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v25e2020a4572.

The objective of this study was to verify the possibilities offered by the textbook of Physical Education for the insertion of Information and Communication Technologies in teaching Athletics and Dance in Physical Education classes. For that purpose, we carried out a qualitative research with a collaborative approach, developed in three stages: (1) diagnostic assessment (observation of a 6th year Physical Education teacher’s classes); (2) design and implementation of two didactic units of the Physical Education book; and (3) evaluation of the textbook’s didactic units. Participants of the research were sixth-graders in elementary school and a teacher of the discipline. The collected data was transcribed, reviewed, organized, and classified from the analysis of coding categories. The results indicated that the textbook favored the inclusion of the technologies, collaborating with the teaching of the proposed contents. We conclude that Information and Communication Technologies might work as pedagogical support tools for the contents of Physical Education, in this case from a textbook, as long as there is pedagogical mediation by the teacher.
