Abstract

FREIRE, Flávia Magalhães; LIMA, Daniela da Costa Britto Pereira  and  BORGES, Leila Cristina. Institutional evaluation of Brazilian Higher Education: a review of instruments to offer e-learning courses. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2021, vol.26, e215064. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v26e2021a5064.

This article seeks to review the instruments for institutional accreditation and re-accreditation, and the accreditation of distance learning courses in their evaluative aspects, considering the theoretical studies of Almerindo Janela Afonso, José Dias Sobrinho and Daniela da Costa Britto Pereira Lima. The objective is to verify the focus given by the government in the evaluation of distance education, highlighting its characteristics, trends, and possible inductions. For its development, a bibliographic and documents survey was used. The time frame covers the period from 2014 to 2018. The conclusion is that the instruments are mechanisms of mostly regulatory policy for distance education, with a minor emphasis on methodology and communication (which are important characteristics for the provision of quality distance education), and consequently, its learning evaluation.
