Abstract

HUARCAYA, Alex Sánchez  and  CUELLAR, Mónika Nelly Camargo. Training offer trends in master’s in education (management and curriculum) in Peru. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2022, vol.27, e226509. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v27e2022a6509.

This study aimed to analyze the training offer trends in master’s degrees in education in the specialties of education management and curriculum in Peru. For the documentary study, the web pages of 95 licensed universities in Peru were reviewed, in which information was found on the training offer of both specialties in 36 universities, finding 36 education management programs in 33 universities and 3 universities that offer the curriculum specialty. For information analysis, documentary matrices were used according to the following categories: geographic location, duration, study plan, types of courses (theoretical and research), among others. Among the most important results, we have that universities partially present information about their programs. There are only three programs of the curriculum specialty and 36 related to educational management. The programs are professional master’s degrees, and this is evidenced by the number of courses related to the specialty, although there is an incidence in training researchers, in addition to the fact that soft skills are part of the training of experts in both specialties.
