Abstract

AMARAL, Vinícius Ferreira  and  DIGIOVANNI, Alayde Maria Pinto. Teachers’ comprehension and interaction in situations of bullying and violence in schools. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2022, vol.27, e225441. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v27e2022a5441.

This is a qualitative research that aimed to describe and analyze the interventions adopted by teachers in situations of bullying and violence in the school environment. It was based on the historical-cultural perspective, which has Vygotsky as its main author. The data were collected in two public schools in a medium-sized municipality in the interior of the State of Paraná and a third school was added along the way. At first, we made a questionnaire with open questions available to the contacted schools and nine teachers answered it. Of these nine, after reading and analyzing their answers, five were selected for a semi-structured interview that aimed to deepen the data obtained in the questionnaire. In conclusion, the teachers do not have a comprehensive knowledge of the bullying phenomenon, which causes the most varied difficulties in the school routine. In this sense, there is an urgent need for greater qualification of education professionals and for a collective praxis assumed by educational institutions so that there is an effective intervention in this context.
